Helen Virginia Mayer

Helen Virginia Carr Mayer went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Heritage Care Center in American Fork, Utah.

Helen was born in Southern Illinois on April 2, 1937 to the late Rev. J. Roy and Ollen Carr.

On June 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to George Wayne Mayer II.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. They were married for 61 years until his death in June 2016.

She is survived by two children, Gregory Wayne and LaDonna Michelle Benson; two siblings, Joy Copeland (Glenn) and Glen Carr (Jody); 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and two children, Helen Marie and George Wayne III; her parents, four brothers and one sister.

Helen enjoyed teaching the youth of her church, reading, gardening, and visiting with people. A highlight of her life was serving as a missionary with her husband at the temple in Nauvoo, Illinois. She lived her life dedicated to her faith and family.

Funeral services will be conducted by Anderson Mortuary, in Nephi, Utah on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Viewing 12 p.m., service at 1 p.m.
