On December 22, 2024, Helen Anderson passed away peacefully at age 93 in her home in Nephi, UT surrounded by her family. She was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her beautiful 93 years of life. Family was very important to her and she was the center point of the family. She loved to gather as many as possible for holidays, summer parties, reunions and especially Christmas Eve.
Helen was born September 22, 1931 in Moroni , UT to John Henry and Ivy Andrea Anderson. Helen married Duane Anderson on October 8, 1951 in Moroni, UT. They made their home in Wales, UT for years and then in 1963 moved to Nephi, UT.
She graduated from Snow College. She went on to raise her 7 kids while owning and operating 2 businesses. Before starting her first business, Helen managed Town Café. Then, Duane and Helen opened the Flaming Rock Café and Anderson Western Wear. Helen managed both of these while Duane mostly worked out of town. After her retirement from these businesses, she could not be idle and worked for Nephi Lumber for several years and used all of that money for Christmas.
She loved to visit with people and her favorite time to do that was over morning coffee. She loved to travel and she was fortunate to go all over the world in her adventures. She also loved a good road trip and was known for the almanac in her head.
Helen is survived by her children Hal (Elaine) Anderson, LaRee Aagard, Carolyn (Mike) Poulsen, Larry (Cris) Anderson, Carl (Kerry) Anderson, Kathleen (Richard) Whimpey and (Pat) Anderson. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 13 great great-grandchildren.
