Gwendolyn Minnie (Davis) Siddoway Larsen

Our Mom, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, has returned to her Heavenly Father. She died at her home in Taylorsville, Utah.

She was born to Charles D. Davis and Orletta Hatch Davis during a winter Blizzard in Parleys Park (Snyderville) Utah. The doctor had to travel from Park City in a sleigh pulled by a horse.

She grew up in Holladay and graduated form Erving Jr. High, then moved to Wanship where she attended high school at North Summit.

She married Frank LeRoy Siddoway when she was 18 years old in March 1938. They raised their family in Park City, Utah. Frank preceded her in death July 2, 1967. She later married Ola Willard Larsen and shared many happy years. They lived in Park City, Wanship, and then Grantsville, Utah. Willard died January 24, 1989.

She worked for Pykes Manufacturing, Blue Cross, Deer Valley Resort, Summit County Assessor Assistant, Dr. Oris, Park City Hospital, Park City Resort, and then started her own flower business, Gwen's Gifts and Flowers.

Gwendolyn was a very talented seamstress. She made many wedding dresses and prom dresses for her family.

She was always active in politics and community, she was PTA Pres., taught 4-H, participated in the Heart Fund Fashion Show for several years (where her grandchildren have many happy memories modeling, entertaining and being on Miss Julie TV show advertising the show.) She was always active in the Democratic Party and campaigned for her 90 year-old father to be County Assessor, he won of course.

She was always active in her church, she loved teaching the young children, she was in the presidency of the Relief Society and Mutual. She taught a Boy Scout troop when she was in her 80's. She worked in the Jordan Temple for 10 years. She was President of the Brigham Young Granddaughters Association.

She served on the Board of the Taylorsville Senior Citizens for several years. She was active in many organizations that benefit women and children. She belonged to Utah Women's Lobby, Utah Women's State Legislative Council, Salt Lake Council of Women and BPW (Business Professional Women). For many years she served on the Board of the Peace Garden, putting in many hours preparing for the summer festival.

She was honored by many of these organizations. She was honored to be Woman of the Year for the Salt Lake Council. She was honored by Governor Herbert for all of her contributions to the community for many years.

Gwendolyn's true love was golf, she played in the Four Lakes Women's League when she Was 97 years old, and she could still hit that ball!

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters, three stepchildren Bill Larsen, Kathy Robertson, and Nedra Provost, two grandsons Mike Reed and Shap Siddoway, two great-grandsons Justin Allison and Austin Allison. She is survived by her four children, Lueen (Dee) Allison, Patsy (Bill) Reed, JoDean (Ed) Barrus, and one son Dwayne Siddoway (Sandy), stepchildren Patty Larsen, 14 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at the Oak Hill Ward House, 895 West 4800 South, Taylorsville, Tuesday, July 10th, 6:30-8:30 p.m., and Wednesday, July 11th, 10-10:45 a.m. Funeral same address Wednesday 11:00 a.m. Interment, Wanship Cemetery.
