Grant Rawle Carrigan, age 98, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on March 14, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on October 20, 1917 to George Edward and Ida Laura Rawle Carrigan in Morgan, Utah. Grant was the last leaf on the tree - the last of the original Carrigan family. He married Betty Jane Whiteley on May 20, 1941 in Copperton, Utah. Grant was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in Seoul, Korea. He was employed as an electrician at Kennecott Copper and retired after 45 years of service.
Survived by his wife, Betty; daughters, Michal (Mike) Swain and Jayne Haun; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and 11 siblings and their spouses.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the employees at the Veterans Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
