Gracie was born on April 12, 1948 in McAllen, TX. She passed away peacefully in Kearns, UT on January 28, 2023 following a short illness. She is preceded in death by her father (Jose Perez), her mother (Bertha Espinoza Perez), her cherished brother Jaime Perez, and granddaughter Destiny Cox. She is survived by her beloved husband Walter (Wally), her children Walter Jr., Dennis (Lauren), Jennifer Rooker (Paul), Jonathan (Carla), Aaron (Jessica), and Andrew (Sara), 17 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, her brothers Jose (Yoli) and Rick, and her sister Belinda Dehoyas.
Gracie grew up and attended school in Pharr, TX. After graduating high school she attended Brigham Young University where she met her sweetheart and eternal companion, Wally. Wally and Gracie were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on December 27, 1968. They raised six beautiful, talented, and creative children.
Gracie was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in various assignments over the years.
Gracie loved arts & crafts, working on ceramics and designing stained glass that Wally would cut and assemble. Like her mother, she was an avid researcher of family history, spending countless hours on her genealogy and putting together family scrapbooks.
The family is deeply grateful for the loving and kindhearted care of the staff at Summit Senior Living, and the staff at iCare Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at Anderson & Goff Mortuary located at 11859 S. 700 E., Draper, UT. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 am - 10:45 am. Interment will be at Herriman City Cemetery.
