Grace Marchant Cooley Johnson, age 95, of Midvale, Utah, passed away on May 11, 2022 in her home from complications due to hemolytic anemia.
Grace was born on June 3, 1926 in Peoa, Utah. She graduated from South Summit High School in 1944. She was married on June 1st, 1944 to Kenneth F. Cooley in the Salt Lake Temple. Kenneth passed away on January 10, 1970 after 26 years of marriage. She married Harold Johnson on September 11, 1978. At her passing, Grace and Harold were married for 43 years. She was actively involved in church service. She loved square dancing, gardening, and serving as an organist in the Jordan River Temple.
Grace is survived by her husband, Harold Johnson; his five children, Les Johnson (Doreen), Claudia Nygard (Barry), Randy Johnson (Shauna), Mark Johnson (Karen); her five children, Gwen Jarman (David), Douglas Cooley (Marianne), Nolan Cooley (Gretchen), Cindy Tietjen (Bill), Jill Tietjen; 25 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her parents, her 6 sisters, 3 brothers, her son-in-law Bruce Tietjen and her grandson Neil Jarman.
The viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary (8090 State St., Midvale, UT) on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (7250 S. 300 E., Midvale, UT) on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am. Grace will be interred in the Francis City Cemetery.
