The world lost some of its light on Sunday, February 25, 2024, with the passing of our beloved brother, son, uncle, and friend Gordon Allan Daley (64) at his home in Fountain Green, Utah. He was born July 10, 1959, in Payson, Utah, to Robert and Margie Hatfield Daley. He spent his first years in Mapleton, Utah, then his family moved to Springville, Utah, where he spent the rest of his childhood. He attended schools in Springville, Utah, and the alternative High in Spanish Fork, Utah. Gordon spent most of his younger years working as a welder, pipe fitter and iron worker. Most of those years were at PDM Steel Company in the field making water tanks. Then he became self-employed as a handyman doing bricklaying, woodworking, and home remodeling. He was very talented and artistic in his many skills.
Gordon loved Indian art and culture, he was an avid painter and sculpture and loved doing anything with southwest influence and landscape. Gordon could fix anything and make it more beautiful. He loved to be around his family and friends. He was never blessed with any children of his own but he was a father figure to all of his nieces and nephews. He loved dogs, especially his American Pincher Lisa who welcomes him in Heaven. Anybody who ever met Gordon loved him instantly, he had a way of spreading joy all around him. Gordon spent the last fourteen years taking care of his mom and dad until their passing and had planned a great adventure traveling to see his friends in the neighboring states but unfortunately that adventure didn’t happen on this earth but knowing Gordon, he’s already on to his next adventure.
He is survived by his five siblings Danny Daley, Patti (Dan) Carlson, Gary Daley, Mike (Jan) Daley, and Judy (Rex) Jacobson, nineteen nieces and nephews, and some very dear friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Margie Hatfield Daley, father Robert Daley, and nephew Weston Daley.
A celebration graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fountain Green Cemetery, Fountain Green, Utah. In case of bad weather, the service will be held at the LDS Church at 151 S. 200 W., Fountain Green, Utah. Come and share all of your memories of Gordon.
