Glenn Marchant Shaw (87), beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at his home. Glenn was born on March 30, 1937, in Coalville, Utah to Valoie and Elmer Shaw. He grew up in Coalville and graduated from North Summit High school. He married his high school sweetheart Dixie Pace on Friday, September 13 th , 1957, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Hoytsville Utah where they raised four daughters.
Glenn worked for the Utah Power and Light Company for 35 years. He worked as a Lineman, Dispatcher, Line Forman, and Local Agent in Summit, Wasatch, and Morgan Counties. After retirement he served as an ordinance worker in the Ogden temple for six years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities including, Sunday School teacher, Second Counselor in the Bishopric, High Counselor, and as a Branch President at the Summit County Correctional Facility. He especially loved serving in the Deacons Quorum.
Glenn loved his family and was always supportive of all the various activities of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed raising and working with cattle. His favorite pastime was spending time working with the Moore family at the Castle Rock Ranch.
Glenn is proceeded in death by his wife Dixie, his parents, brother (Ray) and Sister (LaJean). He is survived by his four daughters Linda (Kelly) Batt, Debra (Tracy) Freeman, Leslie Rushton and Stacie (Kyle) Dearden, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Rory Duncan for her loving hospice care.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 10:30-11:30 am at the Hoytsville LDS Church, followed by a graveside service at the Coalville Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers please donate to the Missionary Fund for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
