Glen was born on October 13, 1923 to Otto Hugo and Ruth Elway Thomson Ebert at the family home in Granite, Utah. Glen was the third of seven children. He attended the Old Granite Elementary, Sandy Junior High and Jordan High Schools. He worked as a machinist at Hill Air Force Base during World War II and again beginning in the Korean War until he retired in 1978. Glen also worked as a taxi driver, a church custodian, and the water master for the South Despain Ditch Company.

Glen met the love of his life while working at Hill Air Force Base. Glen and Stella Murel Lougee were married on September 15, 1945 and were together for over 53 years. They were the parents of seven children. They worked together through the ups and downs of life. Their eternal bond grew even stronger as they served in the Memphis Tennessee Mission together and were ordinance workers in the Jordan River Temple. When Stella passed in 1998, he missed her tremendously. They are now reunited in heaven.

Glen was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in the Granite Ward. He was an ordinance worker in the Jordan River and Draper Utah Temples. He loved Family History work and would spend hours each day researching his ancestors. Glen spent hours in the construction of the Granite Ward building at 3100 East Little Cottonwood Road. His favorite ward calling was membership clerk.

Glen was an active member of the Granite Community. His family had floats in the Granite 4th of July parade and participated in the celebration each year. He loved being in the 50th year commemoration. He held shares in the South Despain Ditch Company and would join in the annual ditch cleaning. He loved to talk to his neighbors and help when he could.

Glen was a member of the Mormon Battalion and was chaplain in the local chapter. He loved to wear the uniform and march in the Days of 47 parade.

Glen is survived by two siblings, six children, 35 grandchildren, 100 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. His parents, brother George, sisters Eldora and Blanche, wife Stella, and daughter Janice passed before him and have greeted him on the other side of the veil.

A special thanks from the family for all those that took a special interest in our patriarch in the last years of his life. A special heartfealt thanks to Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve for his visits to Dad in spite of his busy schedule. We also thank the awesome care and attention of Lacie from Milcreek Home Care and Hospice. Dad really looked forward to her visits.

Many thanks to the excellent caregivers at Beehive Home West Jordan.
