Gerry Gayle “Frog” Christensen passed away on August 27, 2022 in Murray, Utah, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 5, 1948 in Driggs, Idaho to Merlin Denton Christensen and Lillie Eliza Hodges. Gerry loved growing up in the Tetons with his 7 siblings. He also loved hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He was a big BYU football fan and a Utah Jazz basketball fan. You would often find him watching and listening to both at the same time.
At age 19, he served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in New Zealand. He was married to Cecelia Woodmansee on August 17, 1970 and raised 4 beautiful children. In 1972, he graduated from Brigham Young University-Provo with a degree in Sociology. Shortly after Cecelia’s passing, he married Judy Jensen on January 9, 1988 and gained 2 more children. Professionally, he served as a police officer for the Murray City Police Department for 32 years and retired as a Lieutenant.
He enjoyed the simple things in life with a little humor. He loved playing games on the computer, watching netflix, and just chilling at home. He was the best Uber driver with the worst dad jokes. He is the only man we know that loved to go shopping. If it said “New” on the tag, he’s buying it. His favorite activities were going to the donut shop for doughnuts, a coke, and the newspaper. He loved his cabin in Duchesne. But most of all, he loved his grandchildren.
Gerry is preceded in death by his parents, Merlin Denton Christensen and Lillie Eliza Hodges; his siblings, Diane McNerney, Paul Banks, Dennis Christensen, Roy Christensen, Debbie Jaimes, and his precious granddaughter, Shelby.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Jensen; his children, Jason (Tammy), Amy Sue (Mike), Jeremy C (Trina), Brett (TBA), Jodi (Ului), and Jeremy J ; and his beautiful grandchildren: Leka (Will), Victoria (Asi), John (Fate), Mikayla, Trey, Zack, Hannah, Gavin, Aiden, Collin, Kallie, Derick, Adam. Additionally, his sisters: Jacque Harding and Karen Carr; and his beloved dog, Gigi, plus many more that became family.
We are sincerely grateful for all who continue to show love and support towards our family during this difficult time. Thank you for your kind words, thoughtful messages, and for lifting us.
