Gerald Lane Parsons

Gerald Lane Parsons, born to Harvey Edward Parsons and Geneal Mary Jensen on May 22, 1939, in Axtell, Utah, passed away November 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, compassion, and dedication. Whether it was with a pencil, marker, crayon, paintbrush, or his hand, art was always on his mind and in his heart. His artistic spirit touched everyone around him, and his creations will remain as a testament to his talent and love for art.

Gerald married Diane True Perry on March 12, 1977 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had a blended family as big as a baseball team.

Gerald proudly served his country in the US Army March 16, 1959 - April 17, 1962 as a medic, where he dedicated himself to caring for others. Outside of his service, he was a master of genealogy, passionately tracing family histories and ensuring that generations would stay connected through their shared heritage.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister Sharon; his sons, Jerry, Stephen (Kathy), and Benjamin (Linsey); and his daughters Suzanne (Wade) and Amy; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Diane; former wife Linda (divorced); his brother Roger; his sisters Elma, Vivian, Myrna, and Kathryn; his son Aaron; and his daughter Diane.

Gerald's legacy will live on through his family and his art, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Gerald will be honored at a celebration of life on Saturday, November 9, 1 - 3 pm at the church located at 7825 S. Olympus St., Midvale, Utah. He will be interred at Camp Williams at a later date.
