Gerald Mark Gillins

Gerald Mark Gillins, age 62, a beloved husband, dedicated father of 4, and proud “Papa” of 14, sadly left our world August 3rd, 2024. Mark was born in Las Vegas, NV on October 14th, 1961 to Gerald and Lois Gillins. 

Mark graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1979 and was quick to start his career with the Union Pacific Railroad, proudly following in the footsteps of his grandfather. At the age of 20, Mark met the love of his life and they were soon married on November 26th, 1982. This is where his true legacy began.  

Mark moved to Laramie, WY for work and this is where he and his wife raised their 4 children. As the years went by his job eventually brought him to Nephi, UT where he retired at the age of 60. 

Throughout his life he had many hobbies from bowling and darts, to cooking and video games with the grandkids. But his biggest passion was his love for the outdoors. Bow hunting, rock hounding, camping, shotguns and riding in the hills in the good ole CJ5 was where he was happiest, especially when he had his family by his side. 

Mark is survived by his wife, Holly Gillins, daughter, Sasha (Matt) Posey, daughter, Morgan (Lee) Amor, son, Gerald S. Gillins, and daughter, Whittney (Jacee) Christensen, grandchildren, Christina, Ashton, Gabriel, Ronin, Addison, Titus, Mila, Kyra, Brittany, Mason, Gerald R., Luella, Brianna, and A.J. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Robert Gillins and Lois Etta Gillins. 

Funeral services will be Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:30 am with a viewing from 9:00 to 10:15 am at the Nephi 1st Ward (222 South 100 East, Nephi, Utah) with a graveside at 3:30 pm at Minersville, UT City Cemetery.
