Georgia Lee Mascarenas, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on December 8, 2024, at the age of 75.
She was born on August 30, 1949 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Georgia grew up in Kearns, UT. She graduated from Kearns High School in 1968.
Georgia married David Mascarenas in 1968. Together they had two daughters, Tammy and Charlotte. They later divorced.
Known affectionally to everyone as Nana, she had a passion for baking and cooking for her family, friends, and loved ones. She made the best pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.
Georgia spent many years working in retail; selling fine jewelry. She enjoyed meeting and interacting with others. She loved shopping and was always dressed to the 9’s.
Nana was elegant, kind, gentle, and soft spoken. She loved giving and receiving hugs. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything for anyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and James Womack.
Georgia is survived by her sister Virginia (Ginger) Dressler; daughters, Tammy (Tony) Gortat and Charlotte (Mike) Falvo; her grandchildren Lance (Dani) Gortat, Tyrone (Katelin) Gortat, Jake Thomsen, and Tyson Thomsen; and her great-grandchildren Taylor (McCoy) Allinson, Zackery Gortat, Hadley Gortat, and Daxton Gortat.
She will be remembered for her love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. A celebration of Georgia's life will be held in 2025.
