George Ross Nelson

It is with great sadness that the family of George Ross Nelson announces his passing on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the age of 79 years old.

He was born on November 1, 1938 to his parents, George W. Nelson and Clara L. (Hughes) Nelson, in Sandy, Utah. Ross will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Lois, and his son, Alex (Jessica). Ross and Lois were married on April 2, 1981. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River Temple on November 3, 2007.

Ross is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Jesse Nelson and sisters, Rose Starks and June Collard.

Ross enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends, 4-wheeling in his Jeep, and had a passion for firearms and reloading. He had a great love for animals and especially the special dogs he had through the years. He was a true friend to all that knew him and was always concerned for the welfare of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Bluffdale 9th Ward, 14650 South 3200 West. Visitations will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah and 1 hour prior to the service, at the church. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
