Gaye Williamson

Gaye Williamson, 68, quietly passed away on August 21, 2016 at home surrounded by family due to heart failure complications. She was born on November 18, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Boyd Glazier and LaVon Neff. Gaye grew up in Hollywood California and spent summers in Lake Arrowhead water ski racing and running the lake snack bars with her family.  She graduated from Hollywood High School in 1965 and then returned to Utah to attend BYU.  She graduated with her BA in teaching in 1969 and taught 1st grade.  She spoke fluent Spanish and spent the following 3 years flying for Pan American Airlines where she traveled around the world 7 times.  She married her high school sweetheart, Gregg Williamson, in 1971 and together they had 3 children who were the light of her life; Darren, Whitney and Wesley.  She ran a Subway Sandwich franchise from 1987-2001 until she returned to her true passion of teaching.  She spent the next 13 years teaching 5th grade at Sandy Elementary.  In 2007 she received her Master's Degree from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Gaye was a very talented and artistic person.  She loved toile painting and decorating her home, especially for Christmas and holidays.  She was an avid tennis player, with a license plate: NE1410S (Any One For Tennis).  She loved the movies, the beach, traveling, bird watching, TV, and reading.  More than anything she loved her family, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren at their sporting events, trading teasing banter with her "younger" older brother D, and spending time with her mom.  She had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. She also loved gazpacho, Hawaiian shaved ice, and Diet Coke. She loved her Heavenly Father who in the last couple months she received a special witness of his love and care for her.

Survived by her mother, LaVon Tanner; brother, D (JJ) Glazier; son, Darren (Stephanie) Williamson; daughter, Whitney (Vinnie) Fassio; son, Wesley Williamson; grandchildren, Clara (14) Rocco (12) Celeste (12) Owen (11) and Dominic (9); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her father and grandson, Gavin.

Special thanks to the IMC Heart Failure and Transplant Team, The LVAD Fearsome Foursome, Sally Brush, APRN and Quality Hospice.

Mom, we're sorry we couldn't find your 1990's Costco membership photo that you had always wanted to use as your obituary picture, we really did look.
