Gavin Ellsworth

Gavin Kirk Ellsworth, 26 years old, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 25, 2023 at his home in Wyoming. He is now enjoying his reunion with his loved ones who passed before him. Gavin was born in Orem, Utah on July 5, 1997 to Barbara Garlick and Matthew Ellsworth. He is the middle of three children: Tyliegh, Gavin and Owen.

Gavin moved frequently throughout his life and made many friends everywhere he lived. He lived in several different cities in Utah and one in Wyoming. In Utah, he made several good friends. He was revered and loved by them and was known as "Sharks." He made friends everywhere he went with his winning smile and gentle disposition.

Gavin had demolition and carpentry skills. Demolition was his favorite part of the job. He also enjoyed the reconstruction of the many projects he worked on. His knowledge of technology was mine blowing and his curiosity about absolutely everything was never satisfied until he found the answers.

In February of 2019 he met the love of his life, Sierra Stephenson. They were incredible together and were always goofy and so much fun. The love they shared could not be measured and he lived each and every day for her.

Gavin is survived by his true love Sierra (St. George), his parents AJ and Barbara Garlick (Evanston), father and step mother Matt and Coco Ellsworth (West Valley), sister Tyliegh (Clayton) Nielson (American Fork), brother Owen Ellsworth (American Fork), grandparents Dale and Betty Garlick (Mona), grandparents Randy and Connie Ellsworth (Eagle Mountain), nephew Liam Nielson (American Fork), and brother Dexter Ellsworth. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Uncle Jim Garlick, Aunt Laura Penrod, Uncle Jake Bullard, Cousin Jeremy Cobb as well as many other beloved aunts, uncles, and close friends.

There will be a graveside service held on Monday, October 30th at 1:00 in the Mona Cemetery on Cemetery Lane in Mona, Utah. There will be the opportunity for those who would like to share their special memories of Gavin. A light luncheon will be provided in the relief society room of the Mona 2nd Ward Chapel, 65 East 100 North after the service.
