Gary Leroy King

Gary Leroy King was born in Coalville, Utah on Sept. 22, 1941 to Fount "Leroy" King and Bonnie King. He passed away on May 22, 2018 at home of natural causes. Gary was a Vietnam Veteran. Gary loved all outdoor activities. He was an avid Nascar fan, something he passed on to his children. Gary loved to dance, especially to "Wipeout!" He loved keeping his yard and garage in pristine condition. Gary's garage was cleaner than most people's houses. Gary's passion was restoring old cars and trucks with his brother and best friend Randy King.

Gary grew beautiful roses for his sweetheart Connie. Together they camped, hunted and fished, rode snowmobiles and led a full, interesting life. Gary and Connie loved going out in their Jeep, and later their four-wheeler. Gary was a great carpenter, he remodeled their West Jordan home many times. Gary and Connie had a big garden each year, and Connie would can and preserve what they grew. Connie made a secret recipe vegetable juice just for Gary. Gary could turn his hand to anything. He was an accomplished mechanic, body man, painter and plumber. He was a devoted family man. He loved many people and was loved in return. He will be missed.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie (Ostler) King, brother Randy (Kathy) King, children Kellie (Kevin) Robertson, Rick (Deborah) Dansie, Kaylene (Jon) Wilde, and Gary (Kristine) King, 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pat and Mickie, daughter Sherrie Hamilton, in-laws Leland and June Ostler, and grandsons Jesse King and Brandon Parr.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at the South Jordan City Cemetery, 10650 South 1055 West. Viewings will be held Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 10-10:30 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. in Midvale.
