Garrick Hall

December 28, 1974 — February 27, 2023

Garrick Hall

Our dear husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, and friend left this mortal life on February 27, 2023. While we are heartbroken at his loss, we know he is in a better place and imagine he is now spending his time surveying fields with his grandpa Hall.

He was born December 28, 1974, to Anthony and CeCille Hall in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Lewiston, Utah, surrounded by a large crew of brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who love him. As a boy, he had a great love of basketball and spent many hours shooting baskets in his driveway. From his childhood days farming with his grandpa, to his teenage years working for local dairy farmers, his love for agriculture runs deep.

He graduated from Sky View High School in 1993. After graduating high school, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tennessee Nashville Mission from 1994 to 1996. Garrick graduated from Utah State University in 2000 where he studied agricultural science.

After Garrick returned from his mission, he was swept off his feet by his sweetheart, Holly Andersen, who he married on December 27, 1996, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. Together they have six children: Rachel (Brayden) Partridge, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Trevor and Casen Hall. Garrick was also a wonderful grandpa to his little granddaughters, Emery and Ivy Partridge. Garrick loved them all and they loved him.

Garrick was and is a farmer at heart. In 1997, he and Holly purchased their first herd of dairy cows and began milking cows in his Grandpa Hall’s old barn in Lewiston and later moved down the road to Cove, Utah. In 2013, they sold their dairy cows and moved from Cove to Levan, Utah, when Garrick began working for the Utah Farm Bureau. He enjoyed working there for 9 years and made many friends across the state that shared his passion for agriculture. At the time of his death, he was employed with the Utah Department of Agriculture and was pursuing a master’s degree at Southern Utah University. Garrick treasured his association with so many farmers and friends of agriculture across the state and throughout the country. He loved spending time at the Utah State Capitol during the Legislative Session advocating for policy to benefit agriculture across the state.

As the first one to arrive and last one to leave, he was often described as dedicated and unwavering. Garrick had a wide swath of talents and strengths. Whether it was throwing sheep in the back of a pickup or talking to legislators at the Capitol, Garrick showed his capabilities. For the last three years he never missed a day of walking 10,000 steps.

After moving to Levan, Garrick enjoyed serving as Fire Chief for the Levan Fire Department. He was committed to bettering the department and community as a whole. He was also a devoted member of his ward serving in many callings, including bishopric member, Sunday School president and various other callings. He was a disciple of Jesus Christ and his strong testimony was a building block for his family.

He is survived by his dear wife and six children, two grandchildren, parents, his parents-in-law Alan and Norma Andersen, five siblings Robert (Kelsie) Hall, Stephanie (Gardner) Gee, Jennifer (Brandon) Muir, Court (Whitney) Hall, Emily (Jason) Pollard, along with all of Holly’s siblings, John (Caroline) Andersen, Ben (Robbie) Andersen, Greg (Gwen) Andersen, Katie (Eric) Christensen, Brandon (Lindsay) Andersen, Heather (Eric) Webb, Joelle Andersen, and numerous nieces and nephews who love him.
