Francis �Frank� Edward Taylor, age 78, passed away Friday morning, December 1, 2017 at his home in Grantsville, Utah. He was born November 9, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee to Homer and Agnes Taylor. Frank came from a large family of 3 sisters and 5 brothers, all with the exception of 1 have preceded him in death. He attended Bernardian Catholic School, after graduation he joined the Army at age 17 in 1957. He did 3 tours of duty in Germany, a Tour in Alaska, and a Hardship tour during the Korean Conflict, serving his country for 8 years. Frank was stationed a Dugway in 1959, while in Utah he met and married the love of his life Ramona Jean Hunt. Ramona traveled and lived in Germany with Frank and their 2 young sons: Allen and Eddie. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1965. He and Ramona moved back to Grantsville and had their daughter Lisa. Frank worked at Tooele Army Depot and Lakeside, while at Lakeside he was a Scientific Photographer, photographing bombing runs and munition tests, a job he really enjoyed. Upon retiring from Lakeside he got into Auto Sales. He worked at multiple dealerships before opening his own in Tooele with his daughter Lisa, Taylor Auto Sales. For 18 years the car lot was a daily coffee stop for many people, whether you bought a car or not. Frank always had time to chat. Frank spent some of his best times with Eddie and Allen picking pine nuts, riding horses, hunting in the mountains. He enjoyed riding his 4 wheeler and was a very good golfer. He was always helping his kids building houses, pouring concrete or whatever they needed. He would literally give you the shirt off his back! Survived by his wife; children: Allen and Linda Taylor, Eddie and Mel Taylor, Lisa and Bill Ratcliffe. 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 8, at 12 Noon in the Grantsville West Stake Center, 115 W Cherry St. A visitation will be held 10-11:30 AM prior to services. Burial will follow with full Military Honors in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
