Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, and brother, Frank Rubalcava, 86 passed away peacefully September 20, 2020. He was born March 26, 1934 in Highland Boy Utah to Bertha Laris Bustillos and Francisco Rubalcava. Frank grew up in a family of 8 children, two brothers, Chano Rubalcava and Joe Bustillos, and five sisters, Katie Cisneros, Bella Galvan, Elvera Flores, Irene Leyva, and Lydia Rodriguez. He graduated from Bingham High School in 1953. In 1954 Frank joined the US Army where he served in Germany. He returned in 1956 where he worked at Kennecott, starting as a brakeman and eventually becoming an engineer on the trains.
On October 4, 1958 he married his sweetheart, Rachel Villalobos. They settled in Midvale, Utah where they raised three children, Frank Jr., John, and Jackie. Frank was extremely proud of his children's educational accomplishments. After 33 years of service with Kennecott, Frank retired and stayed home where he devoted his time to his family and hobbies.
Frank was a devoted member of the Catholic church throughout his life and passed on his love of God to his family.
He loved gardening, U of U sports, traveling with his family, chocolate, and trips to Costco. He was well known for his Hershey's chocolate banana cake, salsa, chili beans and growing tomatoes.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Frankie, Mathew, Christina, Victoria, Alli and Anthony.
He is survived by his daughter Jackie M. Pendleton (Bill Jr.), his son Frank J. Rubalcava (Rosie) Karen Rubalcava (John); six grandchildren; sister Lydia (Jesus) Rodriguez, brother Joe (Melody) Bustillos and his devoted cat Poncho III.
