Frank was born on September 19, 1936 in Bingham Canyon Utah to Lola and Harley English. He was the oldest child, and had two younger brothers Bill and Jeff. He was very proud to be from Bingham and loved growing up in the canyon. This is where he met his closest lifelong friends.
In high school he loved playing basketball on the school team. He graduated from Bingham High in 1954. As his kids, we don't know all the trouble he got into because parents don't tell you those stories, but we approve. A little hell raising is good.
After High school he attended Westminster College where he earned a scholarship to play basketball. He later finished his bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. He met a beautiful young lady, Vonna Dean Ralphs, from Ferron, Utah, and was smitten by her charm and genuine beautiful heart. They were married on February 19, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple.
The two soon bought a house and moved to Copperton where they lived the majority of their married lives. Frank loved his community which was in extension of Bingham Canyon. He served in positions in the Copperton Lions Club for over 35 years. He enjoyed traveling to Lions Conventions all over the states, as well as Mexico, with other Lion couples. This is another time we know there was probably a little hell raising going on. He also was a volunteer fireman.
Soon enough Frank and Vonna had two kids Harley and Karlee, and he raised us several houses away from his parents. Frank always felt responsible to take care of the ones he loved and was so good to our grandparents. He worked at Kennecott for 40 years where he was a blast and drill foreman, and he was damn good at his job. After retirement he enjoyed golfing daily with his Bingham buddies where their "special coffee" might have inspired their love for the game. Our parents also enjoyed traveling to visit both us kids in Hawaii and Alaska. They both fell in love with Hawaii and would spend their winters there for almost a decade.
Frank came off as a tough mean guy, but that's not really who he was. He was so proud of his kids and their accomplishments. Though he never told us that, but would tell Kai, his granddaughter how much he loved both of us. Frank's greatest joys came from his grandkids Justin, Jake, Jazmin, Kai, and Sparky. He was always worried about them and loved being with them. He had a very special relationship with Jazmin who is severely disabled. He and Jaz would watch Westerns and eat junk food. He was fiercely protective of her, and she will miss him greatly. After mom died in 2009 life was rough for our dad, he was heartbroken till the day he died. We are happy they're finally together, but heartbroken at the same time. His greatest desire came true and he passed away in his sleep.
Frank leaves behind his son Harley and his wife Misty English along with his grandsons Justin and Jake. He also leaves behind Karlee English and her kids Jazmin, Kai, and Sparky. He is preceded in death by his mother Lola English, his father Harley English, his brother William English, his brother Jeffery English, and his beloved wife Vonna English. We are honoring his wishes to have a family graveside dedication.
