Frank Joe Gomez passed away in the comfort of his home on May 4, 2024.
He was born on March 9, 1943 to Crisóforo and Pétra Soria Gomez. He has joined his siblings Johnny Gomez, Lupe Gomez Elizondo, Juanita Gomez Ruiz, Margret Gomez Martinez, Jovita Gomez Manzanares, Jess Gomez, and Bobby Gomez with one surviving sibling Delores Gomez Quezada honoring his memory here.
Frank grew up in Rose Park, Utah and graduated from West High School. He worked for Meadow Gold for 27 years he loved and spoke about working for a Union and the importance of it.
He was married to the love of his life for 40 years Carol Gomez. They lived in West Valley City, Utah and she was by his side until the end. Like one of their favorite singers Lionel Richie they shared an ENDLESS LOVE.
If anyone who knew him knew that he was most happy in his lazy boy recliner with his sweats and soda pop while watching wrestling, western shows, or his Vikings play.
He loved blasting his music and singing to his favorite actor/musician Antonio Aguilar to his Mambo number 5!
He enjoyed cooking for his family whether it be chile verde and beans or fried pork chops with fried potatoes to have his family enjoy his meals meant the world to him.
His favorite time of year was Christmas he enjoyed decorating the tree and has passed that tradition down through generations and he would buy everyone tamales and host a Christmas party with Santa at hand for all the kids to enjoy, he was all about the magical feeling.
And he loved getting away to Wendover to play on his favorite slots every year for his birthday with a nice cold Corona.
He was survived by his wife; children Tammy (Franco) Gonzales, Frank S (Cynthia) Gomez, Debbie (Randy) Blumenthal, Sherry Gomez, Kim Gomez, Michelle (Mike) Soto, Dionne Gomez, Frank (Cynthia) Gomez, Melanie (Kerry) Binggeli, Melody (Adolfo) Vallejo; also survived by his 28 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Like the great John Wayne said “talk low, talk slow, and don’t say too much” which is fitting for a man of few words. Even though he never said it out loud in words he loved us all.
Memorial Services will be held at The Point Church located at 5133 S Heath Ave, Salt Lake City, Utah 84118 on May 28,2024 at 11:00 am. There will not be a burial ceremony due to him being cremated.
