Finis Holt

Finis Jerome Holt; born, Robert Jerome Holt; AKA: Butch

Finis came into this world on February 12, 1954. He was born to Finis Holt Jr. and Alberta Robinson Holt in Wichita Falls Texas. He was the oldest male child with three siblings. Kathy; Wichita Falls, TX; Dwight Edmund (Pinky); Salt Lake City, UT; Collette Ann, Salt Lake City, UT. All siblings preceded Finis in death.

Finis is survived by his beloved daughter Justice Ann Henry-Holt; Sons, D J Gordy, Tommy Gordy, and Bryan Fisher. His two grandchildren, Luna Rose Jolie, (who Finis called "Moon"), and Titus Jax-Jerome.

Finis took a vital role in helping to raise his sister's children, they were like his own. They are the Yarber family; Dave, Maurice, Deon and Trina. Finis also had many cousins, nieces and nephews in Texas and Utah.

Finis was prolific at whatever he attempted. He loved to fish, play pool, go bowling, and just about anything that would make you nervous, such as, bull-whip cracking, hatchet throwing, bow and arrow shooting, sling-shot snapping, and let's not forget, he threw a mean game of horseshoes! Finis absolutely LOVED to go camping! The more remote, the better. While camping, we often combined the experience with music festivals, and parties. Anything to do with the outdoors, he was up for it!

Finis had a growing love for God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Salt Lake City, UT, where he lent his deep melodic voice to the Inspirational Choir as well as the Male Chorus.

There has never been a more giving, generous in spirit person than Finis Holt. He will give to the poor, even while being counted among them. He would volunteer to help move furniture while depending on a cane to get around for support. Truly, one of a kind.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 1090 South State Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.

A special thank you to the Intermountain Hospice, and Salt Lake Valley Mortuary for their kindness and professionalism in helping Finis in his final journey from here to eternity.
