Filomeno Ochoa Jr., 82, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on September 29, 2017 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on April 10, 1935 in Dinkyville, Utah to Filomeno Sr. and Modesta Leyva Ochoa. Fil served his country proudly and honorably in the Army. He retired from Kennecott Copper after 36 years, then worked for Jordan School District for 20 years, then worked for Canyons School District part-time for 10 years. Fil married Ardeth Hope Peters on August 23, 1980 in Elko, Nevada. They enjoyed traveling, taking care of their yard and just hanging out at home.

Survived by his wife, Ardeth; children, David (Britanna) Halladay, Kim Halladay, Kathi Halladay, Scott (Claire) Ochoa, Robert (Lynel) Ochoa, Thomas Joey (Cheryl) Ochoa, Kenna (Scott) Eskelson and Julie Adams; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony Ochoa; 11 siblings.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox, Midvale, Utah. Viewings will be held from 5-8 p.m. (Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m.) on Wednesday evening at the new Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, Utah and 1 hour prior to the mass on Thursday, at the church. Interment, Crescent Cemetery.
