Everd Leslie Squire

Everd Leslie Squire, 81, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 25, 2024 in Mona, Utah. 

Everd was born on September 9, 1942 in Gunnison, Utah to Ivan and Bertice Squire. He grew up on a farm in Clarion, Utah (west of Gunnison). He was one of 8 children, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints in the North British mission. He married Lorna Mitchell on December 16, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. He earned his teaching degree at Weber State and his Masters degree at BYU. Everd and Lorna moved to Mona in 1969 and raised 6 children. He taught math for 29 years, 28 of those years at Juab Middle School. After retiring from teaching, he worked for Mona City as the Financial Director for 20 years. He served in many church callings. He served on the High Council, in Bishoprics, Ward mission leader and several years as Financial clerk. Everd was known for his sense of humor which he shared with everyone. 

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lorna, his children; Carla (Bryan) Brown, West Valley; Curtis (Tina) Squire, Nephi; Kevin (Allison) Squire, Mona; Cory (Pascaline) Squire, Mona; Kimala (Joe) Christensen, Provo; Kammy Squire, Mona; 22 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandsons and 1 Great Granddaughter; and 4 more great grandchildren coming this year. 

A viewing will be held Sunday, January 28th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Anderson Mortuary in Nephi. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 29th at 11:00 am at the Mona 1st/2nd Ward Church, 65 East 100 North, Mona, with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 10:45. Interment will be at the Mona Cemetery.
