Ermelinda "Erma" Leyba

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015.

Mom was born on November 22, 1919 to Leandro Vigil and Higinia Trujillo in Cundiyo, New Mexico. She married Frederico Leyba on August 23, 1946 in Las Trampas, New Mexico making their home in West Jordan, Utah. Mom was the oldest of six children.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brothers, Maggie, Guadalupe "Lupe", Willie, Bonifacio, and Felix. She is survived by her seven children, Darlene (Joe), Rosie, Christine (Harold), Stephen (Naomi), Edna (Leonard), MaryLou, and Fred; her sisters-in-law, Sue Romero, Beatrice Lopez and Trinidad Vigil; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mom worked at E & J Manufacturing for many years where she developed long lasting friendships.  Mom was the light of our lives.  We loved listening to all her stories and even at the age of 95 her memory was sharp as ever.  Mom loved her family and spending time with us was her greatest joy. We will miss her always but know she is watching us from heaven as our guardian angel.

Viewing will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 W. Lennox St., Midvale, Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6-7:30 p.m. with the Holy Rosary starting at 7:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church.  Burial immediately following at West Jordan Cemetery.
