Erin "Mccall" Probert

Our beloved daughter, sister, special aunt, and friend peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on November 24th, 2017. McCall was born on April 21, 1982 in Salt Lake City to Ronald L and Candy Wilson Probert. She later moved from Kearns to South Jordan where she graduated from Bingham High School. While there, she enjoyed being a peer tutor, a member of the National Honor Society, and a participant on the Bingham Swim Team. She loved going to dances, ball games, and volunteered on numerous committees. She was driven to perfection in her academics. In Junior High she challenged herself to get straight A�s throughout high school. She made it until the last report card where she received a B+. She was selected as the Coca-Cola Scholarship Recipient in 2000; no other Bingham student had ever received that award before that time. McCall was excited to go to the University of Utah. She began teaching swim lessons and working as a lifeguard. It was not unusual for her to work two jobs in one day in different cities. She loved the water herself and worked to improve her speed. McCall was not disappointed if she didn�t win; she was proud to better her own time. Each summer she taught many adaptive swim lessons. She enjoyed children so much she volunteered to take the special needs children; making lifelong friends with the families. Her friendship with the parents resulted in her being asked to come to their homes to stay with the kids while their parents went out of town. One of McCall�s happiest accomplishments was teaching her beloved nephew, Cache, how to swim. She was totally trustworthy and kept those around her honest as well. She was stubborn, bossy, and so goal-oriented that it seemed to many that she didn�t have to get everything accomplished so quickly. She must have known she did. She graduated with honors from the University of Utah in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Family Consumer Studies. She was a huge Utah fan and let everyone know that she bled red. Her funny personality made her fun to be around so she was selected to be on the University of Utah Orientation Committee. She loved welcoming the new students to the campus and help them get acquainted with class schedules, dorms, and the student body. She was a member of the Delta LDS sorority. Shortly after graduation she started graduate school to become an Occupational Therapist. She loved talking about the program and carrying a tackle box full of bones that she was studying. Sadly she contracted meningitis while in graduate school and was unable to return after the illness. She suffered a traumatic brain injury from the illness. McCall loved with all her heart. If she met you; she would want to be your friend even if they were far apart. She would text and call all the way to Germany. She valued her friends and family. After she got ill; it was difficult for her to work and get around. So she really needed friends to rally around her. The family appreciates all those who kept in touch the last 10 years. McCall enjoyed the Olympics and watched them regularly on TV. She applied to have a job when the 2002 Olympics came to Salt Lake City. She worked in the Hockey Hospitality Arena, where she met hockey players and families. She collected pins, autographs, and buttons from every area there. McCall�s journey was a fun one. She began bowling when she was 6; and continued through last year. Her youth league earned her numerous awards and trophies plus a scholarship. McCall was very fond of animals. Her special cats Nemo and Dopey will dearly miss her. She rescued many animals and brought them home; strays and all. Her favorite animal was the Panda Bear; and she had a large collection of stuffed animals and posters. She also loved her adopted dog, Jinx. She was employed at Harmon�s for a long period of time where she learned numerous life skills such as dedication, hard work, and teamwork. McCall was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in numerous callings. She was a visiting teacher and worked in the primary. McCall is survived by her mother Candy (Jerry) Smith, her brother BJ (Nessa) Probert, her father Ronald (Michelle Davis) Probert, her Uncle Tom Probert, brother Zack Smith (Laura Smith), brother Josh Smith (Libby Rose), her nieces and nephews Cache, Kylee, and Kayla. Preceding in death by her grandmothers Dorothy Wilson, Dee Probert, Arlene Jenkins; her grandfathers Richard W. Wilson and Red Probert. The Funeral Services will be held Friday December 1st, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the South Jordan 4th Ward LDS Church; located at 2550 West 9800 South in South Jordan. Viewing Thursday November 30th, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the South Jordan 4th Ward Church. Additional viewing day at the funeral at the South Jordan 4th Ward LDS Church from 10:30 - 11:30 AM. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery located at 2224 South 200 West in Bountiful.
