Eric Todd Rood

Eric Todd Rood born September 29, 1986 in Salt Lake City, UT passed peacefully surrounded by his family November 29, 2015 in St. George, UT where he lived the last several years. Eric grew up in Bountiful, UT and attended Viewmont High School. He was an excellent football player, nicknamed �Roody, the decleater" by his coaches for the big hits he put on people. He taught himself to play the guitar as a teen. He could play almost any song by ear. Eric always marched to his own drum. He loved to make everyone laugh. He loved dogs, adopting his own shelter dog, Chino. Eric loved to work with his hands, he was artistic and very mechanically inclined. He was employed as the lead installer at Appliance Solutions of Utah. He loved watching the cooking channel and his Green Bay Packers. Eric loved his brothers. He was a true friend, kind, fun-loving, sweet and loyal. Eric is preceded in death by his Grandpa Harold Volden. He is survived by his mom and dad, Ron and Teresa Chidester. Father, Todd Rood. Brothers, Dustin (Jessica) Rood, and Brady Chidester. Nephew Stockton Rood. Grandmother Lucy Volden. Grandparents Charles and Loretta Rood and Jim and Billie Anderson. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also survived by the most wonderful friends anyone could ask for, many who were by his side the entire week he was in the hospital. We would like to thank everyone at Dixie Regional for the love and care they gave to Eric and their valiant efforts to save his life. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 at the the chapel at 820 N. Valley View Dr. St. George, UT. Viewing 11-12:30. Funeral at 1:00 Interment following at Tonaquint Cemetary.
