Elry Gillen Lundskog

Elry Gillen Lundskog, age 88, died April 24, 2016 in Murray, Utah. He was born on January 28, 1928 to goodly parents, Gustave Alben Lundskog and Lillie Marie Gillen, in Murray, Utah. He was raised as the oldest brother with two brothers and four sisters.

Elry graduated from Murray High School in 1946. He served an LDS mission to Sweden from 1947 to 1950. He worked for KSL as a film editor.

EIry married the love of his life, Mary Alice Crapo, on December 28, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a wonderful sixty years of marriage. He served in many church callings including ward clerk, high councilman, secretary in the Stake Presidency, and as a bishop of the Murray 7th Ward. He served with his wife, Mary, in the Jordan River Temple for fifteen years.

Elry is survived by loving wife, Mary; and six wonderful children: Cheryl (Edward) Staley, Gary (Cheryl) Lundskog, Mark (Julie) Lundskog, Craig (Jerilyn) Lundskog, Alice Lundskog, and Sharon (Jeffery) Perkins. He is also survived by his sisters Gay Sherrow, Afton Richardson, Helen (Darrell) Eddington, and Margie (Gary) Atkinson; sisters-in-law Gail Lundskog and Shirlene Lundskog; nineteen wonderful grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Elry was preceded in death by his brothers, Parley and Elmo Lundskog, and a grandson, Samuel Perkins. We know Elry is blessed and happy to be associating with loved ones who preceded him in death. We look forward to the time we shall be united with our dear Elry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the River 3rd Ward Chapel, 1540 West 10400 South, South Jordan. There will be a viewing Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the church, and also Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
