Elizabeth Ann Dunford Plehn, 46, passed away from the effects of cancer on June 20, 2016. Born May 2, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah, she graduated from East High and the University of Utah. She served an LDS mission to Pennsylvania where she met her husband, David Mark Plehn. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on July 27, 1994.
Elizabeth was an artist, poet, songwriter, and baker. She used her talents to bring joy to others. She was an understanding listener, a gifted teacher, and consciously tried to be a friend to all. She provided inspiration to countless people through her Rose Game, in which she created chains of giving and receiving roses, sympathy, and well wishes between friends and strangers alike (23newfriends.blogspot.com and on Instagram @therosegame).
Elizabeth was a beautiful wife, a caring mother, and a daughter of God. She was full of charity and of love for the Gospel of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, David, and children, Andrew, Eli, and Anna. Also by her mother, Annette Coles Dunford, and by her brothers, Bill (Jennifer Adams), Michael (Elizabeth), and Thomas (Megan). Preceded in death by her father, Douglas Dunford, and her son, Christian Dunford Plehn.
Elizabeth has planned an open house gathering at the LDS Church at 8945 South 1700 East on Friday, June 24, from 7 to 9 pm. She hoped that all would attend. A funeral service will be held at the same location on June 25, at 11 am. Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
