Elisha Glen Evans

Elisha Glen Evans, 95, was born November 2, 1919 in Lehi, Utah and died October 19, 2015 in Draper, Utah. Glen was the ninth of nine children born to Lillian Mary Yates and Hyrum Jones Evans: Mary Elizabeth, Hyrum Vivian, Geneva Cathrine, Thomas William, Abel John, Lillian Ladeen, Zona Emeline, and Alice DeVere. His parents and siblings preceded him in death.

Glen served 3½ years in the Army. He was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission in Texas and Louisiana.

Glen married Alice Leona Christensen Groce and gained an instant family of 3 girls, 1 boy, and 2 granddaughters. He retired from Tooele Army Depot after over 30 years.

Preceded in death by his wife, Alice; stepdaughter, Shirley Ann; and stepson, Ernest John. Survived by stepdaughters, Virginia Meyers and Carol Shomaker; grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews of his brothers and sisters.

Friends and family are invited for a short graveside service Thursday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m. at the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 S. 700 E., Sandy, Utah.
