Mom passed away peacefully and lovingly on April 30, 2024. She was born April 20, 1940. Her parents were Ester Teerlink and Raymond Shepherd. She was the 3rd out of 11 children. She lived a full and active life and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She married Adolph “Bob” Merola. They had 2 daughters, Toni and Nancy. They later divorced. She married Bernard “Touch” Touchette and was sealed in the Ogden Temple.
They later divorced. Mom had a special relationship with all her grandchildren, and was a special Aunt Nora to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Toni (Allen) Child, and Nancy Pierce, grandchildren Mathew (Becky) Child, Kurt Pierce, Michael (Meghan) Child, Kennen (Krista) Child, Melissa Child, and Piper Kennedy, and 11 great grandchildren, stepchildren Carol, Michael, and Christopher Touchette, siblings Patricia Billis, sister-In-law Christine Shepherd, Lynn (Gloria) Shepherd, Alan (Pam) Bassett, Sylvia (Bob) Purdy, Charlotte (Brent) Andrus, and Dexter Jr (Charlotte) Bassett, sister-In-law Roe (Gaylin) Jenks.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ester (Dexter) Bassett and Raymond Shepherd, siblings Daniel Shepherd, Carl Shepherd, Donald Bassett, Nancy Sullivan Thiriot, and Gary and Prudence Penny, and nephew Michael Shepherd.
From the bottom of our hearts and with gratitude, our family and especially Nancy who helped take care of Mom at the end. Thank you. We also want to give special thanks to the Home Medical Services, Dr. Holland, Amy Fowers, Joy and Statt, to the Hospice caregivers Lilli, Natalie, Julie and the staff at A Plus Healthcare at Home. Your love and care will be noted in Heaven.
A special thanks to neighbor Chuck for his beautiful music and true friendship throughout the years and to the end.
Mom was truly blessed to have moved into the Blooming Grove Ward where she felt loved. Thank you, Bishop Rhodes, and the Relief Society President Gail Hepworth.
SHE WAS LOVED AND WILL BE MISSED BY ALL.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 11:00 am at the Farmington Cemetery, 500 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah.
