Elden Lee Fales BORN july 9, 1941 IN Snohomish, Washington Parents Earl and Fern Fales Graduated from Snohomish high school in June 1959 Attended the university of Utah Graduated from the army command and general staff college He lived a life of service to his country and his fellow men with 30 plus years of military service including three tours in viet nam and his favorite tours teaching rotc cadets. He was also employed as a maintenance manager, a security operative, a bonded messenger, and a lumber jack. His most important work came after he survived four strokes which left him with aphasia and serious limitations in mobility. He was proud of his 6,000 hours of voluntary service in the va medical center, and had a goal to reach 10,000 hours before he retired. Married to Janice fales for 45 years. Survived by his wife , Janice; two daughters, bonnie fales smith and amy joy fales stricklan- Malone; five grandchildren, Athena rebrook, Christine rebrook, keegan fales, Alexander stricklan and mia stricklan; two great grandsons and his sister, Lorraine falter. Died on Wednesday, February 25,2015 in the mt. Olympus rehabilitation center. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile and his dedication to helping others. He told more than one stroke victim that if he could recover enough to be a volunteer they could too. Burial was held at camp Williams memorial park, Monday, march 2, 2015 at 12 noon with full military honors
