On March 8th, Edward Jacobsen Nolton passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born on May 2, 1928 in Torrance California, the eldest of two children born to Elmer and Jennie Nolton.

Ed was raised in the Chicago area and graduated from South Shore High School. Once he graduated from high school he moved to Logan, Utah and later went on to receive his Master's Degree from Utah State University.

Edward and Nadine were married on May 2nd, 1950 and remained married for 56 years until her passing in 2006. Ed dearly loved his wife and family and will certainly be missed on this earth.

He was a friend to many. He loved to tell funny stories and liked to tease people. Edward enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and going on picnics in the mountains.

He was drafted into the United States Marine Corps in 1952 during the Korean War. He served two years and attained the rank of Sergeant. He then used the G.I. bill to attend school at Utah Technical College and worked night shift for the Union Pacific Railroad. Edward worked 20 years in the trade of cabinet making, finish woodworking and some homebuilding. Edward was a Master Builder and a teacher. He was then hired by his good friend Wilson Sorenson, Dean of the UVU, to teach Architectural Woodwork and Industrial Science. He was Department chairman the last five years of his term, he worked at the college for 20 years.

Edward was predeceased in death by his wife Nadine, his mother Jennie, his father Elmer and his brother David. He is survived by his son Steven (Rose), 6 grandchildren, John (Melanie), Lisa, Kody (Sadie) Chris, Shauna (Ben) and Dana (Greg), 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many in-laws.

Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Cemetery, 4800 North East Lawn Dr., Provo, Utah, on March 19th at 11:00 a.m.
