Edra West

Edra Butterfield West, 91, South Jordan, passed away on April 23, 2016. Born on October 7, 1924 in Herriman, Utah to Mahonri and Hazel Butterfield. She was the 6th of eight children. Edra married the love of her life, John (Jack) West on June 5, 1943. They were later sealed for Time and Eternity in the Jordan River Temple. Together they had 5 children, Jack, Dennis, Thomas, Susan and Karen. She worked for the Salt Lake County Library for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and music. Edra was a devoted wife, mother and sister.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, brothers, son, Jack and son, Thomas. Survived by her brother, Neil (Dorothy) Butterfield, son, Dennis (Marian) West, daughters, Susan (Kirk) Samowitz and Karen (Joe) Schuring, 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. A viewing will be held from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
