Edna Marie Dyches

Edna Marie Dyches, age 87 of West Jordan, Utah passed away peacefully with family members by her side on October 14, 2023, in Riverton, Utah. Marie was born February 26, 1936, in Garfield, Utah to Jay C Nelson and Edna Lucile Morley. She married her high school sweetheart, Edgel Dyches, on September 7, 1956, in the Manti LDS Temple.

Family was the most important thing in her life. She is survived by her husband, Edgel; children, David (Linda) Dyches, Ann (Dan) Pope, Matthew Dyches (Jenny Keough); 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Marian Dyches Porter; her sister LaVon Nelson Winters; and brother Jay Gerald Nelson.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very faithful and served in many church callings like Relief Society President, Primary President, and many more. She served as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. Marie enjoyed many creative hobbies including knitting, ceramics, and sewing.

Marie was always the perfect example of Christlike love and always taught through example. She had a knack for making people feel loved. Marie is loved by all and will be missed by many. Although her time on earth is done, she lived a life to be proud of.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in West Jordan at the Cobble Creek Stake Center, 8150 Grizzly Way, West Jordan, Utah.

There will be a viewing beforehand at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will follow at the Moroni City Cemetery.
