With his unexpected passing on the morning of September 16, 2021, Earl P. Stonehocker was reunited with the love of his life Gayle Alvey Stonehocker, his son, Robert Stonehocker, his daughter, Kris Walton as well as his brothers, Steven and Clarence (Renny) Stonehocker.
Earl was born on April 4, 1938 in Milford, Utah, the eldest of four children to Earl Fremont and Eva Stonehocker.
Earl and Gayle were married on June 14, 1959 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the years, Earl worked for RJ Reynolds and Red Hills Distributing, which he and Gayle operated together in St. George, Utah. In 1982, he began a twenty-four year career with Ream's grocery stores in Sandy, Utah, where he served as store manager until his retirement in 2006. One of his favorite post-retirement activities was traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his brother, Robert (Bob) Stonehocker, his sister, Margeret Schmidt, his daughter, Carole (Jeff) Maxwell, his son, Chad Stonehocker, his daughter-in-law, Holly Stonehocker, his son-in-law, Jeff Walton, in addition to twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren...with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 beginning with a viewing at 11:00 am and memorial service following at 12:30 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah. Graveside service will follow at Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah.
