Earl William Stauffer, 93, our beloved sweetheart, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and great great-grandfather, returned to our Heavenly Father on October 25, 2018 at his home in Sandy, Utah surrounded by his family. He was born on March 22, 1925 in Murray, Utah to Earl Lawrence and Myrtle Bethia Bishop Stauffer. Earl married Peggy Louise Anderson on July 18, 1959 in Murray, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
He attended and graduated from Murray High School. Earl was a member of the Navy during WWII, serving in many battles on the sea. He worked for Kennecott Copper Company for 25 years as a Supervisor.
Earl enjoyed fishing, camping, deer hunting, all kinds of sports, dancing, gardening, watching his granddaughters play the violin in their orchestras and watching his grandsons play sports. He and three other men organized little league baseball in White City.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Jordan River Temple for six years. Earl loved our Lord and Savior.
Survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Melvin (AnnDee), Dean (Marilyn), Richard (Debbie), Dave, Doreen (Mike) Bong, Larry (Sunee) and Earlene (Chris) Barton; 24 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly (Donald) Duke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 S. 700 E., Draper, Utah. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening and 1 hour prior to the service. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial.
