Duane A. Olson

Duane A. Olson peacefully passed away August 6, 2015 surrounded by his family.  Born July 13, 1936 in Murray, Utah to Arvil L. Olson and Irene Sanders, he attended and graduated from Jordan High School and Brigham Young University. He married Diane Millerberg in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961.

He worked for the USDA Farm and Home Administration.  He was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in many capacities: a full-time missionary in both Finland and the Eastern States missions, a Bishop, Stake President and later as a missionary with his wife in the New Zealand/Pacific Islands mission.

He is survived by: his wife Diane, children Lori (Earl) Stephenson, Mark (Rebecca), Cheryl (Trevor) Rosenberg, Trent (Dayna), sister Ilene, 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Viewings will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Street in Midvale and Wednesday, August 12, 2015 one hour prior to the service at the Midvale 8th Ward building, 8350 So. Jackson Street.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Duane was an example to all of us in his love of the gospel, love of his family and his courage in enduring to the end.  We are grateful for the legacy he leaves for us to follow.
