Douglas Sperry Young

Douglas Sperry Young of Mona, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 31, 2019 after a long, hard battle with cancer.

Doug was born on June 13, 1935 in Mona, Utah to Joy and Jesten Young. Doug was raised and lived all of his life on the farm in Mona. He was a dedicated and hard working farmer, in addition to his job at Geneva Steel.

He loved watching old westerns and sitting by him was his forever friend, "Beau"! He served his country in the Army in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, Eleanor and Renae, a brother, Richard, 3 infant siblings and his granddaughter, Trisha. He is survived by his loving family, Shirley, Robert (Demilo), Erika (Jerry) Halford, Kerri (John) Tkach, Theresa (Devan) Powell, Tracy (Rod) Lowe, grandchildren, Alexis, Arianna, Amara, Ace, Stacie (Kevin), John Robert, Sydney (Justin), Jordan, Jesston, Logan, Lee, Anthony, and great grandchildren, Hailey, Hayden, Kenzie, Jaxin, Addisyn, Lynne and Andy. We will miss you every day and thank God you are no longer in pain.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Mona City Cemetery (700 E. Cemetery Lane, Mona, Utah).
