Douglas Wayne Stockton

Bountiful, Utah – Douglas Wayne Stockton, 79, of Bountiful, Utah, passed away on December 31, 2024. He was born on September 30, 1945, in San Bernardino, California, to George “Bud” Stockton and Roselia Bianco Stockton. He attended East High School and the University of Utah.

Douglas began his professional career at Kennecott Copper Mine and later worked as an arborist at the University of Utah. This role marked the beginning of a 40-year career in landscaping and irrigation, which he enjoyed immensely.

Douglas met Katherine May Clark through mutual friends at a dance in Provo. The couple was married on May 30th, 1972, and were later sealed in the Bountiful Temple in 2004. Together, they had three children: Angella Stockton Jensen, Kris Stockton Anderson, and KariAnn Stockton.

Throughout his life, Doug enjoyed a variety of activities. As a young man, he played baseball and later joined a fast-pitch softball league. He also participated in bowling leagues with Kathy. In addition to his career, Doug worked tirelessly to support his family by selling fresh orchard fruits from his truck with Kathy. He took pride in teaching young entrepreneurs the value of hard work.

In 2010, Doug retired to Arizona, where he devoted his time to caring for Kathy, their dogs, and their swimming pool, always ensuring it was perfect for family enjoyment. He was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying football and baseball, and became known for his uncanny ability to predict game show winners. He also enjoyed sharing his love for classic cars first through wall calendars, then later on Facebook, often posting pictures of his favorite vintage vehicles.

Following Kathy’s passing, Doug returned to Utah to be closer to his family. He spent his remaining years lifting weights and cherishing time with his children and grandchildren. Doug was a frequent attendee at baseball games and took great pleasure in visiting outdoor gardens. Known for his kind words and often humorous, sarcastic remarks, Doug made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine May Clark, and always brought her flowers; his daughter, Angella Stockton Jensen; his parents, George “Bud” and Roselia Stockton; and his sisters: Angie, Carmella, Lorena, Marie, Dot, and Georgia. He is survived by his daughters, Kris Stockton Anderson and KariAnn Stockton; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Stockton, Alicia Pigott, Shane Johnson, Mariah Anderson, Melodie Bundy, and Mishayla Anderson; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Ash Marie Johnson and Charles Pigott III.
