Douglas Frank Eldredge

On Sunday, March 3, 2019, Douglas Frank Eldredge, our loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 90.

Doug was born on March 23, 1928. He spent two years at the University of Utah before marrying Elaine Heugly, Oct. 28, 1949, in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised 3 children, daughter, Dalayne Eldredge, sons, Mark Douglas Eldredge and Russ Livingston Eldredge.

Doug is survived by his wife, Elaine H. Eldredge; daughter, Dalayne Eldredge; son, Russ Livingston Eldredge; daughter-in-law, Rene Crawford; 4 grandchildren, Melvin Ray Pollard Jr. (Camee), Chase Livingston Eldredge (Alex), Tanner Mark Eldredge (Laura), Haylie Marne' Smith (Chandler); 2 great grandchildren, Maxwell Mel Pollard and Jenson Mark Pollard.

Doug is preceded in death by his 8 siblings, his son, Mark Douglas Eldredge and daughter-in-law, Sherry Pollen Eldredge.

Doug loved to work and taught his children that if you work hard, you can accomplish anything. At a young age he worked at Fred's Repair and eventually with two of his brothers purchased and changed the name to Eldredges' Cyclery and Mower. He also worked for 40 years at the Union Pacific Railroad where he was involved in Junior Achievement where he passed his work ethic on to many young men involved. After retirement he worked with his son Mark at Newmark Development until Mark's passing.

The most important things in Doug's life were his family, helping others and being kind to all. He lived by the "Golden Rule" (Do unto others what you would have them do unto you). He loved the church and his dog Jet.

Special thanks to the staff at the Ridge at Cottonwood for their devoted care for the last 4½ years. He truly loved you all. Also, Brighton Hospice for their caring and unmatched care and support.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Anderson & Goff Mortuary, 11859 S. 700 E., Draper, Utah. A private family service will be held 1 hr prior. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
