Douglas Loyd Davis

Douglas Loyd Davis 74 of Mona Utah passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on September 13, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. Doug was born September 4, 1950 in Provo Utah to Wendall and Edna Davis of Orem. Doug met his eternal companion and love of his life Paula Calton in Pleasant Grove; they were married October 3, 1969 and they were later sealed on November 26th in the Manti Temple.

Doug worked for Mountain State Steel for 40 years as a welder fitter. He was a skilled welder and worked on many projects around the home and farm. One of Doug's talents was making beautiful horseshoe art. Doug had a zest for life and could always be found making you laugh. He loved his family and loved spending time outdoors with his grandchildren. He worked hard on the farm and loved taking care of his beloved dogs and cows. Doug or Gramps to most was a great father, grandfather and example of what it's like to raise a family. He taught us all how to work hard and love harder. Doug was a faithful member of the LDS church in which he had many callings and a strong testimony of Christ. 

Douglas is survived by his wife Paula Davis, sons Chad (Courtney)Davis, Jedd(Shara)Davis, Solomon(Rebecca)Davis, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers Leon(Carolyn)Davis, Gary(Marcy)Davis, and 2 sisters Karen Patrick, and Wendy(Doug)Lynch.

Preceded in death by 2 daughters Chami Lyn Davis and Mysti Dawn Davis, 2 brothers Robert Davis and Kelvin Davis, great grandson, Augustus Davis, and his Mom and Dad.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Standring and his office staff, Central valley home health and hospice, Julianne Parkin, and all the family, friends, and neighbors, who have reached out and showed their love and support.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 with a viewing one hour before located at 65 East 100 North, Mona, Utah.
