Dorothy Larae Scoggan

Our sweet aunt Dorothy passed away peacefully on December 16, 2015 in Murray, Utah at the age of 83. Dorothy was born November 25, 1932 to Lester and Dorothy Hackwell. She was the last surviving sibling in her family.

Dorothy lived all of her life in Salt Lake City, Utah. She enjoyed spending time with family. She loved playing cards and going out to Wendover. She loved watching the Utah Jazz and doing puzzles. She loved her dog Smokey. She loved going out to lunch with family every month.

Dorothy appreciated the special relationship she had with her niece Linda and her children who were always willing to help her out with anything she needed. She had a special relationship with her sister Gloria. They were inseparable.

Dorothy is survived by her nieces Linda Gibson of West Valley City, Utah and Bonnie (Darrell) Thomas of Kamas, Utah, nephew Jack Whitehead of Magna, Utah, 5 children and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

The family would like to express their gratitude for Leonard for being such a good companion to Dorothy.

A viewing and service will be held Saturday, December 19th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street in Midvale, Utah. Interment will be held at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South & Vine Street, at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Goff Mortuary.
