Dorothy Chacon Romero passed away on June 18, 2021 surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on March 5, 1942 to Catarino Chacon and Margaret Hernandez Chacon in Bingham Canyon, Utah. She married Frank Romero on September 24, 1960 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Survived by her husband Frank Romero, daughters Valerie Lopez (David), Doreen Velarde (Larry), Tammy Carrillo (James), nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Preceded in death by her father Catarino Chacon and mother Margaret Chacon, sister Gloria Chacon, and great grandson, Mocoy Velarde.
Dorothy was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved spending time caring and cooking for her family. She had a wonderful, witty sense of humor. Her laugh and smile will be missed. She was a devout Catholic and raised her family in the Catholic faith. One of her fondest memories was a pilgrimage to the Vatican, Portugal, France, and Spain.

Friends and family can pay their respects to her family on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, 7832 Allen Street, Midvale, UT 84047 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary service. A mass will be held for Dorothy on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. There will be a graveside ceremony following mass services at Memorial Estates, 6500 S Redwood Rd. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Dorothy's name, a place close to her heart.
