Dorothy Carolyn Mikkelson Nelson, age 82, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dorothy was born February 6, 1937 in Fountain Green, Utah to Neils Edward and Margaret Olevia Llewellyn Mikkelson. She was the youngest of seven children and the only daughter. She grew up in Fountain Green and graduated from Moroni High School. She married Dan Brent Nelson on June 27, 1960. They are the parents of three children - a daughter, Diane and Brent Adamson, a son, Kevin and Cindy Nelson, and a daughter, Lori and Wayne Purrington, 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and was a great example to everyone. She endured poor health with patience, dignity, and grace and without complaint. Her family meant everything to her.
She is survived by her husband Dan, a sister-in-law, Joyce Mikkelson, and her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who love her.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St., Midvale, Utah. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Crescent 11th Ward Chapel, 89 East 11000 South, Sandy, Utah, with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy, Utah.
