Dorothy Agnes Ferguson Laker February 5, 1925 – July 1st, 2021

“Red”, “Dottie”, “Dot”, “Dorothy”
Known for her signature red hair and fabulous fingernails – our beloved mom, grandma, and great grandma passed away peacefully on July 1st, 2021 at the age of 96! She was born to Ernest Ferguson and Agnes Kellgreen Ferguson in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Dorothy lived a life of service. Whether it was sewing darling clothes for her daughters, Sue and Linda, or writing a thoughtful note of remembrance to a friend or neighbor, everything always had an extra special touch!

Dorothy was the master at creating a warm and cozy environment for family holiday get-togethers. Everyone looked forward to Christmas and the comforting glow of a beautifully decorated tree and delicious clam chowder!

Dorothy had a quick wit, great sense of humor and a contagious laugh! If she was laughing, it was impossible not to smile and laugh right along with her!

She loved her family. Dorothy and her husband Bryan loved driving up to Bear Lake to enjoy its beauty. She absolutely adored her two daughters and their husbands. They all shared a love for gardening and would often exchange ideas on how to make them beautiful. Dorothy loved taking her grandchildren to Little America when they were kids. There they would enjoy the finest of grilled cheese sandwiches. Her loved continued right through to her sweet great grandchildren and energetic granddogs!

Dorothy was preceded in death by Bryan, her handsome husband of almost 71 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (George) Pearson and Susan (Roy) Adams. Grandchildren: Matthew (Angie) Pearson, Emily, and Paul. Great grandchildren: Jeff, Eliza, and David. Also two granddogs: Bentley and Rocco.

A special thank you to the staff at Copper Ridge Health Care for their kind and compassionate care of Dorothy.

A private graveside service was held July 9th, 2021 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
