Dorothy Ann Dunn

Dorothy Ann Witherell Dunn, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, passed away on June 29, 2015 at the age of 97. She was born on September 1, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah as an only child to Archibald Elmer Witherell and Anna May Akhurst. Dorothy married Ralph S. Dunn on May 27, 1936. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 74 plus years. He passed away in 2011.

Dorothy graduated from Jordan High School. She worked at Midvale Telephone Co. as a switch board operator and at Auerbachs as a personal shopper. She and her husband served as President and Co-President of the Midvale Historical Society for 6 years, she also served as the Vice-President of the Midvale Ladies Guild for 3 years.

She was a loving mother and loved family get togethers. She was a devoted genealogist and spent many hours doing genealogy and temple work. She held many church callings. She was a long time resident of Midvale and had many wonderful friends.

Survived by her daughters, Barbara (Maurice) Tueller and Carolyn (Grant) Gibb; 4 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Robert and daughter, Margaret.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the services. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
