Doris M. (Nielsen) Parker Manning

Doris Mae Manning passed away on May 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the sixth of eight children born to William M. and Anna May Van Dike Nielsen.

Doris spent her childhood in Salt Lake City, graduating from South High in 1946. She married Ronald Parker, who had three children, and they had five children. He passed away in 1963. She later married Derrel Manning and had three more children. Doris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous church callings throughout her life. She was a homemaker, devoting her life to her family. She enjoyed a variety of crafts, quilting, rug making, and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Derrel; six children: Don, Linda (Bob), Connie (Scott), Diane, Terry (Robin), Michelle (Tom); stepdaughter, Jeannie (Wayne); stepdaughter-in-law, Sue; 24 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda and Melodie; first husband, Ron; stepson, Montie; and stepdaughter, Judy.

We will miss her terribly but are grateful she is free from the bonds of Alzheimer's and has returned to her Heavenly home joining many of those she had loved in life.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Mountain View 2nd Ward located at 2901 West 9000 South, West Jordan, Utah, at 12 p.m., with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be at Sandy City Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to our friends at Legacy Village Memory Care of Taylorsville and Aspire Hospice for the loving and attentive care shown to Doris.
