Dora Leichtle, age 99 and 8 months, passed away peacefully at home under ‘Symbii Hospice’ care for 3 weeks. Her husband Thomas passed away October 23, 2002, what a blessed reunion for them.
Dora was raised in Petaca, New Mexico on a farm during the depression era, she enjoyed farm life and all the hard work and even had a pet horse named Beauty. Her Mother and Dad are Ascincion Lucero, and Moises Lucero. Dora also had 15 siblings, 10 of which survived. Dora was the very last of her immediate family to pass on, January 24, 2023. Dora was born May 29, 1923.
Dora’s hobbies were complete love and devotion to her 6 children–always busy, never wasting time. She went to Maui, Hawaii, to see her granddaughter Stef get married on the beach. Mom and Dad also travelled to Lake Christina, Canada once.
Mom is survived by Betty Johnson, Anna Mae Edmund (Boyd), Virginia Bowers (John), Emergene Booth, Patricia Moran (Jeff), and Tommy Jr. IV, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and even 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by sons-in-law George Johnson, Ronald Booth, Joe V Montoya, and grandson Mark Johnson.
We know thanks to Mom and Dad that there is a God by our parent’s actions. Dora wishes for all to be content and happy. Mom, Dora was real and very loved. She was a Methodist but wasn’t too active in later years due to health issues. She walked until her second stroke January 6, 2023. God bless all.
Dora thanks Dr. Brett M Porter, Dr. Rajiu Shah, and Dr. Issac Noyes.
